Laminate Flooring in Forrest City, AR

Quality Laminate Flooring in Forrest City

National Carpet One in Forrest City is your local flooring expert, so naturally we have one of the area's best selections of laminate flooring. Laminate, although it has lost some popularity to resilient flooring options like luxury vinyl flooring, continues to be a top choice for homeowners who want something durable enough for homes with children and pets.

What Is Laminate Flooring?

Laminate flooring is a more durable alternative to hardwood flooring. Unlike hardwood, laminate features a strong top layer that is called the wear layer. This wear layer, which is typically treated with something like urethane, resists most scratches and scuffs, and it also provides some resistance against spills and stains. Underneath the wear layer is the decorative layer, which includes a high definition visual of real wood. With this decorative layer, laminate planks look exactly like wood planks.

Unlike hardwood, laminate also features strong support layers. These support layers, which are referred to as core and base layers, provide each laminate plank with premium dimensional stability. As a result, whereas wood planks can crack under heavy foot traffic or other impacts, laminate planks will hold strong even after years of use. At the same time, these core and base layers provide moisture resistance, so laminate planks are unlikely to expand or contac when exposed to moisture. This is not mean that laminate is waterproof, but it certainly can handle moisture better than hardwood.

Where Can Laminate Be Installed?

With these performance advantages, laminate flooring can certainly handle foot traffic, spills, and stains better than hardwood, so laminate can be installed in busy bedrooms, living rooms, and family rooms. Can you put laminate flooring in a bathroom? For the most part, we don't recommend laminate for bathrooms, but there are some high-end styles that can be installed in bathrooms without showers and baths. Can you put laminate flooring in a basement? Yes! Laminate can be installed below, on, or above ground, as long moisture isn't too much of an issue.

At National Carpet One Floor & Home in Forrest City, we are proud to be the local laminate flooring provider to Francis County and all of North Eastern, Arkansas.
